The Germany Job Seeker Visa is a type of Work Visa that is issued by the German government to anybody who is willing to come to Germany and then find a Job. It is a Long-term Visa issued for Six Months. Anyone can apply for the Germany Job Seeker Visa and can stay in Germany for six months.

This simply means that the Job Seeker Visa allows you to come to Germany, and find a job for yourself within the six months given, and if you successfully secure any Job you can now apply for a work visa and a residence permit to reside in Germany. To Obtain a Germany Job Seeker Visa in 2023 you need to qualify, complete the documents and Pay the Visa Application Fee.

Who Can Apply for Germany Job Seeker Visa?

Obtaining the German job seeker visa depends on your citizenship or nationality.

Those from the EU, EEA, and Switzerland can move Germany to seek for a job without the need to apply for a visa first.

Also, those from Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Israel, Japan, Canada, and the USA are also exempt from obtaining a job seeker visa. Individuals from these countries are not required to obtain a job seeker visa, but they must register for a residency permit once they arrive in Germany.

Apart from the above mentioned countries, all other countries of the world can apply for the Germany job seeker visa 2023.

German Job Seeker Visa Eligibility Criteria?

The applicants to meet the following criteria:

  • You should be at least 18 to apply for the German job seeker visa.
  • You must have enough amount to support your stay in Germany. This money will be kept in a German bank and after you arrive, you can withdraw for your expenses.
  • You should have a minimum of 5 years of work experience
  • A National of a third country outside the EU/EEA who needs a Visa to enter Germany.

  • Your valid passport.
  • Three identical passport-format photographs
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Proof of travel health insurance.

Types of German Job Seeker Visa

There are two different types of Job seeker Visas for Germany available. They are:

  • Job seeker (Academic)
  • Job seeker (Vocational training)

1) Job seeker (Academic)

On a Job Seeker Visa (Academic), you can stay for up to six months in Germany to find a Job related to your academic qualification. Here, you’ll need a recognized university degree.

Once you find a suitable Job, you will get a residence permit.

2) Job seeker (Non-Academic)

The Job Seeker Visa for non-academic applicants allows you to stay for six months to find a job corresponding to your vocational qualification.

You need to have completed vocational training of at least two years that has been recognized in Germany.

Visa Fee for German Job Seeker Visa In 2023

The Cost of the German Job seeker Visa is €75. You have to Pay it to the German Embassy. The visa fee is subject to change at any time and the money will not be refunded if your application gets rejected.

How to Apply;

Follow these steps to apply for the Job seeker visa to Germany:

  1. Complete the German job seeker visa application form.
  2. Make a visa appointment
  3. Prepare the required documents for the job seeker visa before the appointment date.
  4. Attend the interview at the German Embassy/Consulate.
  5. Pay the job seeker visa fees.

Can I Extend the German Job Seeker Visa?

The German job seeker visa cannot be extended. This simply means if you are unable to find work during the six months, you will have to return to your country.

But if you are able to find work in Germany within this six months, you will only need to apply for a working visa/residence permit to reside in Germany.
