Benefits of the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme
The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme 2024 will provide the following:
- An annual stipend of HK$331,200 (approximately US$ 42,460) for up to three years.
- A travel allowance of HK$13,800 (approximately US$1,760) annually for conferences and research-related relocation.
- Additional Support will be provided by the university if the PhD extends from 3 years.
- No prior work experience is required.
- No application is required for the initial fellowship application.
Eligibility Criteria of Hong Kong Fellowship Scheme:
To be eligible for the Fully Funded Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme, applicants must be;
- Applicants can be from any nationality around the globe.
- The candidates have to prove that their university education has been conducted in the English language.
- In case, the applicant’s prior medium of education is not English, applicants has to provide English Proficiency Certificate.
- Applicants should demonstrate exceptional qualities in terms of academic performance, research ability or potential, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as leadership abilities.
- The candidate must choose from the given list of 8 universities.

- Eligible candidates should first make an Initial Application online through the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme Electronic System (HKPFSES) to obtain an HKPFS Reference Number by 1 December 2023 before submitting applications for PhD admission to their desired universities.
