Chevening Master’s Scholarship 2024 is a fully funded masters scholarship for international students and it provides a fully-funded scholarship for a one-year master’s program in the UK universities to all qualifying candidates from a Chevening member or eligible countries. The Chevening Master’s Scholarship 2024 covers the following;

  • University tuition fees.
  • A monthly stipend.
  • Travel costs to and from the UK.

  • A travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK.

Eligibility Criteria for Chevening Scholarship

To be eligible for Chevening Master’s Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Required Language: English
  • Eligible Countries: The scholarships are targeted to citizens of Chevening-eligible countries. (See the official website for complete list of countries eligible for Chevening scholarships).
  • Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended
  • Have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at a UK university by the time you submit your application. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK but may be different depending on your course and university choice.
  • Have at least two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of work experience.
  • Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by July .

You are not eligible for a Chevening Scholarship if you:

  • Hold British or dual British citizenship (unless you are a citizen of a British Overseas Territory or hold BN(O) and are applying from Hong Kong).
  • Hold refugee status in a non-Chevening eligible country. Applicants who are citizens of a Chevening-eligible country and who hold refugee status in a Chevening-eligible country are eligible for a scholarship.
  • Are an employee, a former employee, or relative* of an employee of Her Majesty’s Government, or have been within the last two years from the opening of Chevening applications (including British embassies/high commissions; the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy; Department for International Trade; the Ministry of Defence; and the Home Office), or a staff member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
  • Employees, former employees, or relatives* of an employee of Chevening Partner organisations are eligible to apply, but if the employment took place within the last two years, you cannot receive a Chevening Partner Award from the organisation from which you work, previously worked, or are affiliated with through relatives.
  • Have previously studied in the UK with funding from a UK Government-funded scholarship.

How to Apply for Chevening Master’s Scholarship ?

Please follow the following instructions to apply for Chevening Scholarship:

  1. Choose your country from here, then choose Chevening Scholarship.
  2. Create an account.
  3. Fill your profile with your personal information, save the data and validate your profile, then start your application.
  4. Complete the quiz to assure your eligibility for the Scholarship.
  5. Fill the application with the required data and prepare the following documents:
    • Completed education documents.
    • English language qualification.
    • Conditional offers for proposed courses of study (up to three).
    • Unconditional offers for proposed courses of study (up to three)
    • References (If you are invited to interview you will be invited to upload two references).
    • Passport / ID document.
  6. Submit the application.

Application Process:

  • The application must be submitted in English.
  • The applicant must remember the user name and password in order to be able to log back into OAS.
  • In your application, provide accurate information, especially your contact and e-mail.
  • Avoid using the browser’s back and ‘forward buttons, this may lead you out of the application system. Instead, use the menu from the application form.
  • The application includes four essay questions.
  • The easy must not be less than 100 words and the maximum essay word count is 500 words. Ensure that you meet this requirement to answer all questions.
  • The application has no autosave button, so you must save the application on your own. Remember each online application session expires every 60 minutes. Try to save your application before the expiry of time otherwise the unsaved entries will be lost.
  • An application is a lengthy process, you can log out from the application and can start any other time while using the username and password and the given link via e-mail.
  • You have only three chances to submit the eligibility form correctly. In case of failure, your application will not be submitted and you can submit your application for next year only.
  • Once you have clicked the submit button you can not modify your application.
  • You have only one chance per year to submit your application and only one application is accepted. That is why your first submitted application will be considered final.
  • Your application must contain two reference letters. Make sure your referees are able to be contacted if needed. The British High Commission contacts and verifies the authenticity of the reference letters from your referees.

Tips for Writing Reference Letters:

The reference letters must answer the following questions:

  • The referee’s contact details: address, e-mail, phone number.
  • For how long the referee has known the applicant?
  • In what capacity does the referee know the applicant?
  • When did the referee have the last contact with the applicant?
  • A brief endorsement that explains the applicant’s skills and ability to be part of the Chevening Scholarship.
